Sapienza’s Announcement of New Earth Observation Programmes Advisor

Sapienza Consulting is pleased to announce that Marc Cohen will join the Sapienza Consulting Group as an advisor to the Managing Director on the 1st of June 2020. Marc will provide the Group with strategic advice on Earth Observation (EO) Programmes activities across Europe.

Bio of Marc Cohen

Marc Cohen is a Senior Management Consultant in space programmes with an experience of 40 years in the development of space systems. He acquired this experience both in Industry and in European institutions.

He started his career as a Space Segment Engineer working on Space segment in Industry and at ESA/ESTEC. He also worked on ground segments as Ground Segment Manager for the first Spanish Telecom satellite. After that, Marc moved to EUMETSAT in 1993 and became successively Ground Segment Manager for the Meteosat Programmes and then as of 1999, the Associate Director of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) programmes setting up and managing the EUMETSAT Polar System (EPS) Programme and bringing its 3 satellites into operations. From 2006, Marc also worked in setting up several other LEO programmes including Copernicus Sentinel-3 and Sentinel-6 and the EPS Second Generation. He retired from EUMETSAT in 2019 after the launch of EPS/Metop-C and is currently giving consultancy in the space sector.

Marc studied in Toulouse, France, graduated in 1981 as an Electronics Engineer and passed his Doctorate thesis in 1983 dealing with adaptative antennas for satellites. He also graduated from HEC-CPA having followed an 18-month management course.
