Sapienza Consulting attends 71st International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2020) – Cyberspace Edition

16/10/2020 – Noordwijk – The Netherlands

On the 14th, 15th, and 16th of October 2020, we had the pleasure of attending the 71st International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2020) – Cyberspace Edition, organised by the International Astronautical Federation virtually.

Since its first edition in 1950, the IAC has been the place for all space people to come together and discuss the latest developments in space. The event was held virtually, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, albeit it was a huge success, with more than 12000 registered participants from 135 countries around the globe.

The event was run for three consecutive days and included technical presentations as well as a virtual exhibition. Topics discussed included climate change, the current and upcoming Moon and Mars exploration missions such as Mars 2020 and the Artemis programme. Another major topic of the online discussions we the COVID-19 pandemic, its effect on the space industry and how the industry’s response could play a catalytic role for the amelioration of the pandemic’s effect on the global economyOne of the highlights of the congress was the “3G” (Geography, Generation, Gender) Diversity Award that ESA received for their commitment to creating a modern and inclusive working environment and striving to enhance the innovative perspectives brought in by a diverse pool of talents.

Sapienza Consulting was represented at the event by our ECLIPSE Suite Account Manager Andrew Coe and our Copywriter and Content Creator Maria-Eirini Psaltidi.
