Sapienza at the 7th Interplanetary CubeSat Workshop

As our ECLIPSE for Academia initiative gains momentum, Sapienza’s Consultant Dennis Roshal attended the 7th Interplanetary CubeSat Workshop 2018 event in Paris.

The iCubeSat was held this year in École Normale Supérieure in the historic building of Paris Observatory in the Latin Quarter. During an exciting couple of days discussions were held about the latest scientific and technological advancements in the CubeSat world.

This year in particular, iCubeSat workshop had a truly global reach. Scientists, Engineers, Researchers, Project Managers from as far as Japan and Puerto Rico were presenting their ideas and networking with universities and commercial companies active in the space sector.

Our presentation of the ECLIPSE Software Suite and its added value to Academia resonated strongly with many of the participants. CubeSat project Managers and Engineers alike clearly identified the need for such tool and are now eager to try ECLIPSE.

Once again, the gap between the science and project management requirements of the CubeSat programmes came to light; Discussing with the participants highlighted the need for professional, yet affordable space project management tools that can facilitate seamless collaboration within the teams.

We were delighted to have attended the event and we hope to come back next year for the 8th iCubeSat Workshop, this time in Milan!
