Risks pose a considerable threat to any project's success because of the negative effects they can produce on its cost, schedule and technical performance. Space projects are especially exposed to risks due to the complexities of the space sector, including the high level of uncertainty, the politico-economic considerations, the value of the equipment and the logistics involved in launching and operating spacecraft.

ARAMIS has been developed taking into consideration the particularities of space project risks. Sapienza developed RISK assessment tool is based on the ECSS standards and compliant to the ISO standard for risk management. The tool allows the users to rank the different risks registered by defining the severity of their impact and the likelihood of their occurrence. Project managers can assign and track actions to mitigate the identified risks.

Risks are visually mapped onto a criticality matrix for ease of tracking and analysis. Risks can evolve their defining characteristics over time as a project evolves. The tool offers a powerful reporting capabilities, among others Automated Trend analysis and Comparison of risks etc.
